Material Composition – Neoprene Sheet with 2-Ply Fabric Insertion

RUBASIA RUBBERTECH INDUSTRIES uses a carefully engineered compound for our fabric reinforced neoprene sheets, combining the durability of synthetic chloroprene rubber (CR) with the strength of woven polyester or nylon fabric layers.

This two-ply fabric reinforcement is vulcanised directly into the neoprene matrix during production, creating a bonded composite structure that resists stretching, tearing, and splitting under load.

Key Material Features

  1. Chloroprene Rubber Base (CR)
    • Excellent oil and grease resistance
    • Strong weather, ozone, and UV resistance — critical for Borneo’s tropical climate
    • Maintains flexibility from -20°C to +100°C
    • Good flame retardancy compared to natural rubber
  2. 2-Ply Woven Fabric Insertion
    • Made from high-tensile polyester or nylon fibres
    • Dramatically increases tensile strength and dimensional stability
    • Prevents excessive stretching in heavy-duty applications
    • Improves tear resistance even under repeated impact
  3. Reinforced Compound Technology
    • Blend of premium-grade recycled tyre rubber for abrasion resistance
    • Homogeneously dispersed fibres for impact energy distribution
    • Designed to withstand repeated bending and compression without cracking
  4. Surface Finish & Customisation
    • Smooth both sides for easy sealing and adhesion
    • Can be supplied in full rolls, strip cut lengths, or precision die-cut gaskets
    • Available thicknesses: 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, 8mm, 10mm (custom on request)

Why This Material Excels in Borneo Applications

Borneo’s tropical humidity, intense UV exposure, and industrial demands require a rubber that can withstand:

  • Constant exposure to moisture and salt air (marine docks, coastal towns like Kudat, Semporna, Miri, Brunei Bay)
  • Heavy mechanical stress from plantation machinery in Lahad Datu, Bintulu, Kapit
  • Oil and chemical contact in industrial hubs like Kuching, Sibu, Bandar Seri Begawan
  • Outdoor temperature fluctuations in both lowland ports and highland towns like Ranau, Tambunan

The 2-ply insertion ensures our neoprene sheet maintains shape, strength, and sealing performance even after years of service.
