Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) is a copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene. The ratio of acrylonitrile in the polymer chain directly affects the performance of the rubber:

• High ACN content (33–50%) → Better oil and fuel resistance, lower flexibility
• Low ACN content (15–30%) → More flexibility, better low-temperature resistance
